龙尾社区属徐闻县城的中心地带，由徐城街道管辖，社区名取自清代至民国时这里的龙王庙。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

居委会建于1952年；文革时期曾叫东方红居委会；1986年起称管理区，1999年定名龙尾社区居民委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

民主路上的徐闻潮州会馆在该社区一带，三进院落，仅存中堂、后厅和右廊房，1999年列为湛江市文物保护单位。[2][3]2019年9月，龙尾社区列入「民主法治示范村（社区）」2018年度广东省创建单位名单。[1]
