历史沿革[edit]

下担在1950年立乡，1960年撤乡改设大队，1980年恢复为乡，1985年改称管理区，1999年定为村民委员会[1]。

经济与荣誉[edit]

广东省农业农村厅2020年8月公布的首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村里，下担村的项目是甘蔗良种[1]。2021年1月，该村入选湛江市2020年度全市文明村；2019年9月，列入2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位[1]。镇情材料也把“下担甘蔗良种”作为北坡镇的农产品品牌[2]。
