历史沿革[edit]
虾沟1950年是乡，1959年成为大队；1971年一度和文典大队并在一起，1978年重新分开，仍称虾沟乡[1]。以后经管区、村委会、管理区几次变动，到1999年定为村民委员会[1]。
文化[edit]
据一份对北坡一带村落的整理，村里现存一座李氏宗祠，始建于清康熙年间，1960年重修，占地420平方米，三间二进[2]。村北有泰山宫（石狗）3座，始建于清代，主要供奉泰山公；村中另有三圣庙（西境）和白马关圣庙（东境），都始建于清道光年间，1960年重建[2]。村里有一棵百年荔枝树[2]。
镇情材料把“虾沟红米”列为北坡镇的农产品品牌之一[3]。
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，虾沟村列入了2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位[1]。
