谭北村是硇洲镇下辖的行政村，数据与博雅地名网都写作“潭北村”，村名取自原谭北乡[1][2]。1952年设乡，1998年成立村民委员会[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

硇洲在1952年属雷东县第三区，此地名谭北乡，1956年改叫谭北大队。大跃进的1958年，人民公社里称它“超美营”；1962年一分为二，成了大林、谭北两个大队，1983年两个大队再合起来，仍叫谭北乡。1987年起改称谭北管理区，1998年设谭北村民委员会，沿用至今[2]。

2019年9月，该村进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」的名单[2]。
