宋皇村是硇洲镇下辖的行政村，村名与南宋末年端宗、卫王赵昺逃到硇洲岛的往事有关，村内留有宋皇井等遗迹[1][2]。1983年设乡，辖19个自然村，1998年成立村民委员会[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

宋皇乡成立于1983年，当时有19个自然村；1987年改设村委会，1990年叫管理区，1998年再改回村民委员会，名称沿用至今[2]。百度百科列出的自然村有咸田、赤马、扫屯、方屋、六罗豆屋等[1]。

宋皇井与宋皇文化[edit]

相传南宋末年宋帝一行驻在硇洲，缺水之际赤色战马刨地见水，士兵就地掘井，这口井得名马蹄井，后称宋皇井，位于赤马村外，井水沿用七百多年[1][3][4]。据新快报报道，宋皇村与宋元古道、翔龙书院等遗迹一道，构成当地独有的“宋皇文化”，成为硇洲发展全域旅游的重要切入点[4]。

经济与荣誉[edit]

村里引进火龙果后，由党总支组织党员外出学习、带头转种，并支持党员向高校和科研院所求教改良嫁接技术[4]。百度百科称“硇洲火龙果”入选全国名特优新农产品，村里还种香蕉和百香果[1]。

下辖的咸田村、赤马村被评为“宜居村庄”和省卫生村，另有多个自然村获评市“生态文明村”[2]。荣誉方面：2019年9月进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2021年1月，湛江市2020年度全市文明村名单中有该村；2023年11月成为广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村；2024年4月，该村被列入省里第一批乡村振兴示范村的创建名单；2026年1月又上榜2025年广东省“美丽庭院”特色村[2]。
