建西社区是湛江市霞山区建设街道辖下的社区，名称沿用原建设街道西二居委会的旧称[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

社区前身为建设街道西二居委会的组成部分[1]。其间，2002年10月至2004年2月曾叫建兴居委会，由工农街道管；到2004年3月，经区政府批准定名建西社区居委会，转归建设街道[1]。

2019年9月，建西社区列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」[1]。
