歇马村在恩平市圣堂镇，临锦江而建，是一个以梁姓为主的村落，百度百科记其有215户、655人[1]。村子建于元代至正年间，祖上从南雄珠玑巷南下迁来[1][2]。明清两代，村中有285人取得举人以上功名[2][3]，因此人们习称“歇马举人村”；2008年，歇马村入选第四批中国历史文化名村[4]。

历史沿革[edit]

据《恩平市志》的记载，歇马村在恩城东面约10公里，立村于元朝至正年间，距今600多年[2]。恩平市融媒体中心的介绍则把立村时间定在1342至1352年，称先祖原居南雄珠玑巷，到当时已传23代[3]。

建国后村的归属几经变动：1950年代先是区、乡一级，1958年与三联、平富岗并作一个大队，1962年拆为三个，1965年同三联再合，1978年又各自分开；1984年改称歇马乡，1989年为管理区，到1998年10月9日经恩平市人民政府批准，重新定名歇马村民委员会[4]

地理环境[edit]

歇马村位于圣堂镇南部、锦江河畔[1][3]。村落整体布局形似一匹马，锦江水自上游直冲“马头”，形成回流，发出像马饮水的声响，“歇马饮泉”的说法由此而来；村中码头旁立有“歇马饮泉”四个大字[2]。博雅地名网载，歇马村在风水上被当地人看重，相传是风水先生赖布衣所点[4]。

人口民族[edit]

村民以梁姓为主，属汉族广府民系，百度百科称通行四邑恩平话[1]；恩平方言研究资料则记，圣堂的歇马、三联靠近平石，已讲平石话[5]。

文化[edit]

歇马的读书风气有“笔筒量米也要教子读书”的祖训为源头。相传先祖梁抚民把钱借给村外的无赖，只留了字据，后来对方改了借条反诬他欠钱，他由此认识到不识字就会吃亏，立下了这条家训[2]。

“学谷制”（励学制）起源于明代：村里把公田的地租拨出一部分作经费，办义塾，族中子弟免费读书，每人还可领1箩学谷（约30公斤）；考取秀才的，每年领12箩，考取举人的，每年领24箩，并且可以终身享受[2]。科举废除后，原来的秀才、举人仍继续领取，新学制下的大学生、高中生、初中生也有份，直到1949年土地改革才终止，前后实行了500多年[2]。歇马励学制于2009年入选江门市非物质文化遗产[2]。2023年，五邑大学与恩平市有关单位共同成立了恩平歇马学院[2]。

村里至今保留“功果大戏”“赛龙压锦”等习俗；巷道分男女，13条大巷供男子出入，14条小巷是女子聚谈纳凉之处[3]。村中现存宗祠8座、传统民居7座，另有青砖瓦房100多间，多为“四水归堂”的格局，部分墙体用黄泥、沙、石灰夯筑[3]。

据百度百科，歇马村的经济以农业为底子，2005年开始办旅游，后来农业与旅游并行[1]。村里收藏的文物包括举人碑石200多块、武解元练武石、圣旨碑石和八大旗杆夹[6]。江门日报2023年报道，歇马村的香蕉项目已完成验收[7]

名胜古迹[edit]

孔圣坛、体胖梁公祠、敦睦堂、缉熙堂和励志园，都在景区的核心区内[6]。励志园建于清道光年间（1823年），是中举后官至二品的族人梁日蔼出资所建[3]

歇马村的荣誉按年份排列：2008年10月，「第四批中国历史文化名村」；2009年1月，「第二届全国文明村镇」；2011年7月，「第二批全国特色景观旅游名镇（村）」；2012年12月，「第一批中国传统村落」；2019年9月，「首批“广东省文化和旅游特色村”」；2019年12月，「第二批国家森林乡村」；2021年，国家3A级旅游景区；2023年，中国美丽休闲乡村；2026年1月，「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」[4][1]

明清时期，村里有670多人考得功名，举人以上285人，官员430多人，品级从九品到二品不等；其中有台湾知府梁元桂、武解元梁开第等[6]。近现代的村中人物有书法家梁鼎光、粤剧名旦芳艳芬、香港商人梁煜鎏，以及飞虎队队员梁汉一[3][6]
