下六村在江门市鹤山市古劳镇南部，距镇区4千米，下辖旺村、禾堂、湾屋、耀明、旺宅5条自然村，因建村时共有6个村落而得名，出产的粉葛有一定知名度[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村委会位于小河下游，建村时有6个村落，故名“下六”。村民按姓氏聚居：旺村的李姓，在南宋咸淳年间由南雄先到禄洞，再迁旺村；耀明的莫姓来自福建，先住湴蓼；旺宅的任姓是从南雄经麦水迁来的；湾屋和禾堂的任姓则来自浙江，途经粉洞、大郡[1]。1958年设下六大队，1983年称下六乡，1986年称下六管理区，1998年起为下六村民委员会[1]。

地理环境[edit]

龙口至古劳的公路从村东经过，福迳、白水坑两条小河流经村前。耕地多为山坑田和梯田，主种水稻、花生[1]。

经济[edit]

2008年人口1941人，有耕地80公顷、鱼塘30公顷；下六工业开发区在村辖区内。旅居海外和港澳的乡亲约2300人，其中有旅港乡亲任昌洪等[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，下六村名列2018年度「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；2021年12月，获评2021年度广东省卫生村[1]。
