新星村在江门市鹤山市古劳镇东南，距镇区5.8千米，北靠西江，沙坪河自南绕过，辖洛社、三夹、新社、新仁和等19条自然村，每年端午前后的龙舟竞渡是村里的传统活动[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

古劳围建成后，各地移民迁入，挖塘筑基，姓氏较杂，吕、冯、李、王、谭、冼、陈、易、温、黄、扶、杨、尤诸姓的先民都曾在此定居[1]。村名的来由是：原称下升平，“下”字与力争上游的愿望相悖，便取新社、新仁和两村的“新”字，又因本地话“星”“升”同音，定名新星[1]。1958年设新星大队，1983年称新星乡，1986年称新星管理区，1998年起为新星村民委员会[1]。

经济[edit]

2008年全村2346人；耕地136公顷，鱼塘就占110公顷[1]。

文化[edit]

村里有多条龙舟，竞渡时由新社的“鸡公舟”、洛社的“白颈舟”和新和的“新仁和舟”三条自然村龙舟代表参加[1]。村内新和村的点天灯桥是水乡较有名的石板桥之一，外出谋生的乡亲家人常在节日夜晚到桥上放灯寄托思念[2]。

荣誉[edit]

新星村在2021年4月获「新一批江门市文明村镇」称号；2021年12月，获评2021年度广东省卫生村；2026年1月，进入广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村名单[1]。
