上南村是广东省江门市鹤山市雅瑶镇下辖的行政村，在镇境西北部，距镇区6公里，是上南河和桃源河支流（建良水系）的发源地。[1]村名因这个村委会在南靖村委会北面，即“上部”而来；全村辖10条自然村、14个村民小组。[2][1]上南出产的红烟，在二十世纪五十年代初曾是当地农业的重要收入。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载村情，咸淳年间（南宋，1265—1274年），先后有何、胡、吕、源、文几姓的先人辗转迁来：何氏由南雄先迁楼冲再迁此地；吕氏在元末避乱，从芸蓼迁小范后迁来；文氏由惠州迁文边后迁来；胡氏与古蚕胡姓同出一支；源氏则来自龙口霄乡。[1]

清代属古劳都，民国至1949年后初期多属鹤山一区，也曾划归四区，1954年划为二区；1957年并乡属桃源乡，1958年属桃源公社，1961年改划雅瑶公社。芸蓼与东山两个大队在1962年并为一队，1983年称上南乡，1986年改称村民委员会。1998年，上南作为理顺农村管理体制的试点，在镇里率先由选民直选村民委员会。[1]

地理环境与人口[edit]

村域总面积12069.3亩，耕地1763亩，山塘水库250亩，多山坑田。条目记居民3152人，外来者占268人，华侨、港澳同胞2537人。[1]

经济[edit]

村里过去种植的红烟，烟质黄净、肉厚香醇。条目记1951年司徒美堂到鹤山视察上南李义兰烟厂，村民托他把几扎上南黄坑烟转送毛泽东，毛泽东亲笔回信致谢。红烟因耗工多、收益不高而减少，村民改种粉葛、生姜。[1]2024年，镇里在上南设立了红烟特色种植示范点，并建起长者饭堂。[3]

1997年，上南扩建芸蓼市场，铺设两千多平方米水泥露天摊位，新建三十多间出租店铺，条目称它是雅瑶农村较大的商贸流通点。[1]
