村里以种水果和特色养殖为主，建有「一村一品」水果基地，并有咸围养殖。[1]

东联村的水果基地引导果农种荔枝、龙眼、黄晶果等便于游客采摘的品种，形成多品种的综合果园。村里另外成立了种植合作社，带领村民建设蔬菜、番薯等种植基地。[1]

养殖方面，村里从佛山市南海区引入鹅的养殖，周边200多户村民跟着养起肉鹅；台山市鳗鲡堂生态养殖有限公司在这里经营咸围养殖，村里支持它把传统咸围养殖向现代农业提升。[1]

村党群服务中心面积495.48平方米，里面有多功能会议室、新时代文明实践站等，可以办公议事、开展党员教育和群众文化活动。[1]
