下莘村是广东省江门市台山市都斛镇所辖的行政村，在镇东北部：北连莘村，南接银塘村，西面是山，靠近都下水库，东面平原临黄茅海，与珠海隔海相望。村委会离都斛圩约1.5千米，西侧靠近西部沿海高速公路的都斛出入口，省道麻阳线从村前通过。[1][2]

全村辖一村、二村、三村、四村共4个自然村，按镇政府2026年的资料有701户、2639人。村里的稻田与莘村连片，属于广东省人民政府确定的万亩水稻高产示范片。[1]

全村耕地5750亩，种水稻3150亩、经济作物200亩，另有约2400亩引海水养殖；村内河涌交错，靠山近海。[1]

20世纪90年代，在上级支持下，村里在稻区中部铺了一条长2800米、宽4米的水泥路，建成长3000米的硬底化主灌渠和总长10000米的支渠，并有排灌站3座，田间也架设了机耕便桥。这片稻田与莘村的高产稻区相接，由省人民政府列为高产示范片，温家宝曾到此视察。[3][1][2]

2019年，台山市农业农村局在村内开展海水稻与青蟹混养项目，建起面积100亩的稻蟹混养基地。[2]

乡村建设[edit]

村中乡贤多次出资支持建设。2023年，乡贤麦伟照、麦新照、麦斌捐赠路灯，村民一同动手安装，沿村道每隔25米一盏，共37盏，麦燊炎夫妇另捐了高照明灯。一条使用约30年、破损严重的主干道重修时，乡贤出资提高标准，改铺成宽阔的沥青路。同年村里还更新了排球场的照明，维护下莘村水闸，修缮三村桥，并修了环绕农田的道路；新建的村党群服务中心也有乡贤资助。[4]

村里成立了下莘村博爱公益促进会，不定期召开乡贤智囊会议，听取乡贤对村务的意见。闲置的有秋学校在征询乡贤和村民意见后，以较低的租金租给企业使用。[4]

镇政府网站2015年的村情资料记为720户、2700人，2026年更新为701户、2639人。[3][1]
