仓前村位于双水镇北端，新会至小冈、罗坑的公路穿村而过，路边商铺密集，是制香原料的主要集散地之一。[1] 村子建在旧时县粮仓之前，故名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传元至大年间（1308年—1311年），元将梁姬遭奸臣迫害，带家人南下到这里立村。[1] 清康熙县志记有仓边村，清末《新会乡土志》已见「仓前」之名。[1] 从民国到1957年属小冈乡，之后属天式管理区，1959年单设仓前大队，1961年起隶小冈人民公社，1980年代改乡、改村委会，2002年1月划入双水镇。[1]

经济[edit]

村委会辖12个村民小组，共2163人，另有外来人口1000多人，大多做制香这一行。[1] 近年引进了两家五金制造厂，村工农业总产值超过1亿元，人均收入5500多元。[1] 仓前村在2019年9月列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
