大堂村是双水镇的行政村，别称大王村，村民嫌这个别称不雅，改用谐音，定名大堂。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明成化年间（1465年—1487年），梁姓先祖从会城的茶坑迁来立村。[1] 清顺治年间（1644年—1661年），塔岭梁姓的一部分迁到均安、人和居住，后来统称塔岭新村，别称大王村。[1] 民国时的大堂里属第七区天塔乡；解放初（1951年）并入塔岭乡，之后属沙岗乡、塔岭管理区，1959年年底单设大堂大队，1984年2月成立大堂乡，1987年2月起称村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

全村1001人、286户，劳动力495人，村域面积15平方千米，耕地530亩，辖3个经济合作社。[1] 村民主要靠种植和养殖为生；2009年的资料记人均收入4713元，工农业总产值3138万元。[1]
