城西社区是汕头市澄海区澄华街道下辖的社区，因位于旧澄海县城的西部而得名，在统计上属主城区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地原是海阳县怀德乡下外莆都的辟望；1563年（明嘉靖四十二年）澄海建县，县治就设在辟望。[2] 曾称西社，后改称城西。[1][2] 民国时期先后称西社乡、西社镇；1951年设城西居民办事处，之后分属城关镇、在城镇、澄城镇。[2] 居委会设于1986年，1990年改设管理区；街道成立后归其管辖，2002年起称城西社区。[2]
