官湖是汕头市澄海区广益街道的社区，在澄海新城区北部，东起龟山，西望凤山头，南靠南山，北临韩江。现为广东省生态示范村，居民今为单一董姓。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明朝初年，高、柳、洪等姓先民在这里建村；明末董姓迁入，原有各姓陆续迁往别处，村中遂只剩董姓。[2]

村名有两种说法：一说村前的大湖归官府所有，不准平民捕鱼，故称官湖；另一说此地原称“菅湖”，是长着菅草的大湖。[3]1984年官湖与北陇、内陇合设北陇乡，1986年设官湖村，1996年1月改属广益街道，2002年设官湖社区。[2]

经济[edit]

社区现有人口1083人、240户，耕地175亩，山林187亩，种甘蔗、香蕉、荔枝等。花木经营有一定规模，以科隆花木公司为龙头，发展花木种植、休闲旅游。科隆千树园设在官湖，以“千树八景”为主要景观，龟山景区内还有西汉遗址和妈祖庙。2009年工业总产值超过1亿元。[1][4][5]
