历史沿革[edit]

明、清至民国初年隶属潮阳县黄陇都，1921年属潮阳县第九区。1950年归井都乡，人民公社时期为新明大队，其后在1983年作古凤乡，到1986年改设村委会，1992年一度并入管理区，1999年复归旧制。[1]

经济[edit]

新明是传统农业村，蔬菜种植面积约680亩，年上市蔬菜约400吨，淡水养殖面积500亩。[1]
