南田村在汕头市潮阳区河溪镇桑田片区，由旧桑田村分出的三村之一，位于其南部。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名取“沧海变桑田”之意：祖先在海边泥沙冲积地开垦创村，又因在桑田村南部，故称南田。[2]1949年时属桑田乡，1961年起归河溪公社，称南田大队；1984年改乡，1988年改管理区，1999年定名南田村委会，隶河溪镇。[1]
