双望社区位于汕头市潮阳区文光街道，划为城乡结合区，原为棉城外农村；旧时有前望、后望等村落，因此得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清末民国初在城外，拆除城基后曾属西门居民区，1994年以后设双望居民委员会。[1]
地理与经济[edit]
辖区约0.32平方千米，新华大道和棉新大道从中穿过。这里是历史较久的农业社区，后来居民职业趋于多样，建筑业发展较快；新建的双望小学占地20多亩，另建有老人活动中心。[1]
