平和东社区位于汕头市潮阳区文光街道，划为主城区；因在原棉城平和坊之东，故称平和东。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

光绪年间（1875至1908年）叫平和坊，新中国成立初称平和东大队，1966年改叫平东居民大队，1988年为平和东管理区，1999年定名平和东居委会。[1]
