溪东社区是汕头市金平区鮀江街道西北部的涉农社区，三面环水，西靠大学路（206国道），办公地在前溪路2号。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，溪东在鮀浦以东、靠近鮀济河，因而得名，元至元二十五年（1288年）已有村落，为多姓聚居地。明初萧氏自潮阳棉城迁来定居。此地原属揭阳鮀江都，嘉靖四十二年（1563年）改隶澄海县。清康熙二年（1663年）朝廷禁海迁界，溪东在内迁之列，康熙四十四年（1705年）只有萧氏回迁并重修村子，此后村中仅萧姓一姓。新中国成立后分属澄海县、市郊区和升平区；1987年设村委会，2001年12月起称溪东社区居委会，2003年3月属金平区鮀江街道。[1]

地理环境[edit]

东至潮澄水闸（溪东关），与升平工业区相接；南到大港河，北至南甲陇；东有大港内河，北有前溪河（牛田洋灌渠）。居住面积0.16平方千米，另有萧厝山山地442.4亩。[1]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，常住人口1045人，230户。[1]

经济[edit]

1992年居委三百三十多亩耕地一次性被国家征用，居民全部转为非农业人口，转而经商、贸易、办企业、运输和做手工业；旅居海内外的华侨不少，有侨乡之称。居委有私营企业10家，永辉渔需日用品有限公司是区重点企业。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

萧氏祖祠「贤亲堂」创建于明末崇祯年间，清康熙四十四年（1705年）重建，门额「萧氏家庙」。萧厝坟（萧三岐墓）在206国道西侧的萧厝山，萧三岐（1559年—1646年），明崇祯时受封大中大夫。[1]

文化[edit]

1992年建溪东小学，占地15亩；2017年10月获「第一批广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
