港美社区是汕头市金平区鮀江街道东北侧的社区，辖区面积0.298平方千米，办公地在港美路2号。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村原名港尾，约在宋建炎元年（1127年）前后立村，因村前有处停泊船只的小港口，位于出海口末端。「尾」「美」谐音，后称港美。明嘉靖四十二年（1563年）前属揭阳县，之后属澄海县。1973年成为生产大队，次年（1974年）11月归汕头市郊区；1984年7月并入蓬洲乡，1986年1月撤乡后设港美村委会，1998年设居委会，2001年12月称港美社区居委会，2003年3月属金平区鮀江街道。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村民以吴姓为主，另有陈、倪、高等姓。据博雅地名网，常住人口930人，共198户，党员26人。[1]
