平东社区是汕头市金平区石炮台街道下辖的社区，以辖区内的平东街命名，金平区人民政府和金平区民政局都在这里，居委会设在平东一街1号104房。[1]

1980年，在金砂区龙厦街道下成立平东居委会。2001年12月区域调整，改属金园区石炮台街道；2003年起属金平区石炮台街道。[1]

地理环境[edit]

面积0.12平方千米，北到金砂路，南到长平路，东面是东厦路，西面是金府旁路，下设18个居民小组，主要干道为东厦南路。[1]
