长厦社区是汕头市金平区石炮台街道下辖的社区，以长厦村一带为主要辖区，居委会设在长厦大路3号。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，村子由金砂一带的李姓村民所建，时间在道光二十八年（1848年）前后，起因是迁来此地便于耕种。村名起初是「塘岭」（也叫「砂岭下新乡」），后来因方言里「塘岭」听起来像「长厦」而改名。1982年设居委会，2003年起称金平区石炮台长厦居委会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
面积0.53平方千米，南起中山中路，北达长平路，东侧为东厦南路，西侧为金新南路，下设20个居民小组，主要干道为长平路。[1]
