力昌社区在平湖街道北部，东面以凤平路与东莞交界，南到平龙路，西到天华街，面积2.43平方千米。[1] 社区名称取自它下辖的两个居民小组“力元吓”和“述昌围”各一个字。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

这一带原属宝安县平湖镇新南村；1993年龙岗区成立后属龙岗区平湖镇新南村；农村城市化推进后，2008年3月设立力昌社区居民委员会。[2] 区政府网站则说工作站2006年6月成立，由原大新南与墟镇居委会重组而来，同时分出的还有新南、凤凰、禾花三个社区；2012年10月组建综合党委，2016年5月改为社区党委。[1]

社区总人口约3万，其中户籍人口3055人；下辖力元吓、述昌围两个居民小组，没有社区一级经济组织。辖区有民办学校3所、幼儿园2所、工厂企业403家。[1]
