地名与历史沿革[edit]
村子在坳背山以西，建村之时恰逢南头城建成，于是定名“辅城坳”。[3]
明万历二年（1574年），叶田亨由东莞县还珠沥迁来建村。1962年撤区并社，岐岭与辅城坳合并为辅城坳大队；1982年设辅城坳乡人民政府，到1987年止；1993年1月起隶属龙岗区；2004年9月城市化改制，由村民委员会改为社区居民委员会，属平湖街道。[2]
区域与设施[edit]
社区设一个股份合作公司，下属的6个居民小组分别叫大岭厦、新围、高园、旧村、岐岭和岐岭六村。按居住情况分为辅城坳、工业区和岐岭、融湖、卓越星源四大片区。[1]
辖区有中小学5所，包括辅城坳小学、信德学校、启英学校、龙湖学校和深圳外国语学校（集团）龙岗学校，另有幼儿园5所；住宅区中，白虎头、岐岭新村是城中村，融湖中心城、卓越星源是花园小区，融湖中心城四期则作商业文体中心。[1]
