白坭坑社区在平湖街道南部，距深圳市区约10千米，南与南湾街道相邻，东南是横岗街道，也紧靠东莞市界，面积7.8平方千米，是街道里面积最大的社区。[1][2] 深圳市最大的市级农产品批发市场海吉星农产品物流园就在社区东南部。[1]
地名与历史沿革[edit]
村里多白色陶土，地势又比四周低，故名白坭坑。[3] 博雅地名网说该村建于六百多年前。[3]
公社化的1958年称白泥坑大队；1961年至1966年间，白坭坑、良安田两个生产队同属一个大队；1966年改组为生产队，1977年白坭坑与良安田分开，各自成大队；1989年大队改称村民委员会；2004年9月农村城市化，改名为社区居民委员会，属平湖街道。[3]
经济与设施[edit]
白坭坑村原是行政村，没有居民小组；改为社区后，由社区党委领导居委会、社区工作站和股份合作公司。社区总人口约4.1万，辖区有肉菜综合市场1家、公办小学1所、民办九年制学校1所、幼儿园2所和开放式公园2个。[1]
海吉星农产品物流园占地约30万平方米，有大小商户3000多家。深圳国际海鲜城在社区西南，用地约10万平方米，建筑面积合计约43万平方米，以海鲜批发中转为主，兼营肉类、干货和餐饮等，据社区介绍预计2026年内投入使用。[1]
