历史沿革[edit]
“西乡”之名，因这里位于原宝安县西部。[1]
宝安县1950至1951年分四区，第一区中的西固联乡（又称西乡联乡）管着西乡、上川、上合、固戍、黄田等地，旧下莆、新下莆、更鼓岺、公爵斗，以及铁岗、凤凰岗、臣田、庄边，合称“八合乡”，同属西乡。1958年3月撤区设乡，西乡单独成乡，当年10月同蛇口乡、南头乡组成超英人民公社；1960年自南头公社分出建西乡公社，1982年改称西乡乡，1983年7月升为西乡区，1985年4月并入新安镇。1994年1月15日新安镇撤销，西乡除上合、翻身两村并入新安街道外，余下地域设西乡镇。[3]
1995年4月，宝安区政府批准把“西乡墟镇”划成西乡、柳竹、龙珠、龙腾四个居委会；1996年12月，西乡村委会另分出河东、河西、臣田、庄边四个村委会。[3]
地理环境与人口[edit]
社区处于街道中心商业区，是不由村改居而来的老城区社区，面积1.3平方公里，东临西乡河，南至宝安大道，西到麻布南沙新村，北与龙珠路交界。博雅地名网（年份不详）给出户籍约7549人、常住约1.2万人、管理人口约2.5万；百度百科则称2024年6月社区服务对象为户籍5522人、常住28678人，两处数字不一致。[4][5]
名胜古迹[edit]
西乡北帝古庙在真理街24号，据百度百科始建于明万历元年（1573年），占地约115平方米，两进三开间，前殿匾额题“玉虚宫”，后殿奉祀真武玄天上帝，2017年定为宝安区文物保护单位。博雅地名网另记它在清道光八年（1828年）和1994年重修过。[2][1]
王大中丞祠俗称巡抚庙，在巡抚大街，清康熙年间创建，三进三开间，占地约384.6平方米，列第六批深圳市文物保护单位。所祀为清初广东巡抚王来任：康熙年间实行迁海，沿海民众困苦，他上书请求解除海禁、复还界内土地，因此被革职。清嘉庆《新安县志》记载，王巡抚祠在西乡、沙头墟、石湖墟各有一处。[6][1]
文化[edit]
西乡北帝三月三庙会以北帝古庙为中心，起自明万历年间，农历三月初三是北帝诞，活动一般从二月廿七“出位”开始，到三月初二“复位”结束。庙会一度中断，1992年古庙修缮后重新举办。它2010年入区级非遗名录，2014年入深圳市级名录，2022年被列为第八批省级非遗项目。[2][7]
百度百科称，西乡社区在2026年入选文化和旅游部公布的全国春季「四季村晚」示范展示点。[5]
