天井岗村位于乐昌市乐城街道辖区内，属行政村。村的建制始于1958年的天井岗大队；1983年改为天井岗乡，1987年定名天井岗村委会，1989年一度称天井岗管理区，1998年复称天井岗村委会，此后未变。[1]

韶关市在2020年5月公布的市级「民主法治村（社区）」中有它。[1]
