榴村位于乐昌市乐城街道辖区内，属行政村。村的建制始于1958年的榴村大队；1983年改为榴村乡，1987年定名榴村村委会，1989年一度称榴村管理区，1998年复称榴村村委会，此后未变。[1]
2019年9月公布的广东省2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位里有它。[1]
乐昌市博物馆设在榴村小学后山，2005年7月11日对外开放，占地15333平方米。[2]
