塔头村位于乐昌市乐城街道辖区内，属行政村。村的建制始于1958年的塔头大队；1983年改为塔头乡，1987年定名塔头村委会，1989年一度称塔头管理区，1998年复称塔头村委会，此后未变。[1]
2023年5月，省爱卫会授予它2022年「广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
