据区划资料，上爱在1949至1957年为上爱乡，1958至1983年为上爱大队，1983至1986年又改回上爱乡，1986至1993年称上爱村委会，1993至1998年称上爱管理区，1998年起称上爱村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村名的由来，当地资料说：这里一向是原坝仔区最东面的地方，地势居高临下，所以一直叫上爱。[1]
