名称来由：因居委会驻地在沙洲尾而得名。[1] 社区自设立起沿用此名。[1]

2006年3月，社区获「韶关市文明社区」称号；2008年11月，获评「广东省“六好”平安和谐社区」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

辖区以沿江西路为东界，西到芙蓉东路，北到新华南路，南到金福园南侧，区内街巷有新华南路、芙蓉东路和沿江西路。市地方税务局设在区内，区一级机构有人民法院和教育局，学校有金福园小学和田家炳中学的初中部。[1]
