沙坑村是广州市番禺区沙湾街道下辖的行政村，地处沙湾中心城区边缘，总面积约1平方千米。[1]村子建于1953年，由南海县沙堤乡上坑村因修机场而迁来的村民组成，村名取沙湾的「沙」和上坑村的「坑」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建机场占用了南海县沙堤乡上坑村的土地，1953年，一部分村民经政府安排迁到沙湾东村东侧安家。新村各取沙湾的「沙」字、上坑村的「坑」字，名沙坑村；1987年成立村民委员会。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

现有常住人口1325人、348户，管辖6个生产队，耕地300亩。博雅地名网引用的村情称，村集体纯收入900万元，工业厂房三十多家，商铺八十多间，个体工商户一百多家，产品有机械、电子元件、服装、扬声器、包装材料和五金等。[1]
