太和镇是广东省广州市白云区下辖的镇，在白云区中部，东面是黄埔区，南面是天河区，西面与人和镇、均禾街道、嘉禾街道相邻，北面是钟落潭镇，面积164.62平方千米。[1]2020年7月区划调整后，镇下辖和珊、联升、丰泰3个社区和11个行政村，镇政府设在朝亮南路。[1][3]地名来自清道光年间所建的圩市“太和市”。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所记，清道光十七年（1837年），石湖营（今营溪）的关朝亮、谢家庄的谢大来和上南村的汤朝辅商议，在望岗岭脚开设一处圩市，取名“太和市”，镇名由此而来。[2]清代这一带隶属番禺县慕德里司赤运堡；道光十八年（1838年）建有联升、钟镛两处社学，作为乡里自治的机构。[1][2]

民国二十一年（1932年），番禺县设区、乡、保、甲，太和设乡公所，属第六区。[1]1950年5月，番禺县划为八个行政区，太和乡属第八区，乡下辖谢沙、大田、和龙三个联村。[1]1987年白云区成立，原太和公所改称太和镇，其中龙归片区的7个乡另立龙归镇；2004年太和镇与龙归镇合并。[1]2020年7月1日，白云区调整区划，太和镇一分为三，新设龙归街和大源街，太和镇保留11个村和3个社区。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

镇域东部为帽峰山。帽峰山森林公园建于1997年，2001年经省林业部门批准为省级森林公园，面积5362公顷，主峰莲花峰海拔534.9米。[4]山中的帽峰古庙始建于五代时期，山道“千步梯”以麻石砌成，共637级。[4]镇的面积，百度百科和博雅地名网均记为164.62平方千米。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

联升社学旧址在联升西路，始建于1838年；联升社学和谢家庄谢氏大宗祠在1927年广州起义期间驻扎过起义军，据报道共约1200人。[2][5]南村周氏大宗祠是清代建筑，列入广州市文物保护单位的第六批名单（2002年7月）。[2]
