历史沿革[edit]

社区名称来自辖区内的西湖塘。[1] 社区于2002年9月5日成立。[1] 辖区南北跨度较大，包括明珠新村、荔园新村、水上新村等居住区，南至黄埔大道以南的珠江边。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2022年11月获评「广州市2022年绿色社区」；2024年11月获评「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]
