大山村位于福鼎市西南部，地处亭章线上，自古是闽浙之间的交通要道。村名来自李氏宗祠前一棵粗大的杉木，当地人称它为「大杉」，后谐音写作大山。[1][2]

1952年改设大山乡，1958年改称大山大队。[1]

文物古迹[edit]

村中有李氏宗祠，村内另有三百多年树龄的古樟树，以及一口年代比古樟还长的古井。山岭间有玉岭、文笔、潭隐蛟龙等景观。[1]

荣誉[edit]

省爱卫办于2021年11月授牌，大山村成为「2021年福建省卫生村」。2022年3月，村庄被命名为「2021年福鼎市平安村（社区）」。[1]
