南阳村位于山前街道北部山区，是福鼎市老区基点村之一，村域面积约10平方千米。[2]

地名由来[edit]

潘厝对面有一片几十亩的稻田，南望如同一片海洋，因此称为「南洋」，后谐音写作南阳。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年时此地为南阳村，归桐山区的南阳小公社管理。1958年起作南阳生产大队，1984年改为南阳乡，之后划入桐城区公所。1986年建立村民委员会，属桐城乡。1992至1998年隶属桐城镇；1998年并入山前街道办事处。[1]

产业[edit]

产业以农作物种植为主，此外有茶叶、黄栀子和油茶。茶园面积将近1500亩（据2025年村情介绍）。[2]

全村共有21个自然村。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2023年10月，村被确定为「2023年度宁德市一村一品专业村」。[1]

2022年10月，村被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]

2022年3月，村被命名为「2021年福鼎市平安村（社区）」。[1]
