西坑村在周宁西部，地处周宁、政和、屏南三县交界一带，与政和县相接。老村离县城约20公里，离镇政府约15公里。户籍人口826人，共201户，设3个村民小组。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名旧称西坑赖。周氏先祖于宋代入闽，后迁至周宁；明初洪武初年（1368年）再迁西坑定居。[1][3]

1984年8月起改设村民委员会，归浦源乡管辖。[3]

2014年起，村民分批参加造福工程易地搬迁，2019年完成摇号。现老村常住人口约15人，外出务工者300多人。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村落面积约0.7平方千米，森林覆盖率约69%。矿产有银矿。村中保留较多清末民初的土木结构民居，依山涧层叠而建。[1]
