甘棠乡是福建省宁德市屏南县下辖的乡，位于县域南部，乡政府驻甘棠村，全乡辖17个行政村。乡境原称梅洋，因多梅树而得名，后改今名，一说与清代武将甘国宝的家乡有关。甘国宝出生于今小梨洋村，漈下村则是甘氏宗族的祖籍地，村内古建筑群为全国重点文物保护单位。[1][4][6][8][9]

历史沿革[edit]

甘棠原属古田县境。1734年（雍正十二年）屏南设县，此地当时编在十都与十二都之内。[3]

民国时期，此地先后归南二区与第二区管辖，区公署一度设在长桥。1940年全县撤区改设乡镇，此地分属漈下乡与甘棠乡；1943年全县改设8个乡镇，此地属漈甘乡。[3]

1949年后，此地先后归第三区与第五区管辖，区公所曾驻长桥、棠口和漈下；1956年7月全县并为4个区，此地划入长桥区。[3]

1958年，此地先设长桥指导组，随后成立高峰公社，驻地在甘棠；1959年改称甘棠公社，1961年全县划为10个公社，甘棠公社沿用。1984年撤销人民公社，设立乡人民政府，生产大队改为村民委员会，行政村一名从此使用。[3]

此地旧称梅洋，因境内多梅树。后来有人认为甘棠与甘国宝的家乡有关，遂改用今名。[1]

地理环境[edit]

乡境在屏南县南部，东邻熙岭乡，西与长桥镇相接，北连屏城乡，南面与古田县吉巷乡接壤。乡域面积约120.62平方千米，距县城约17千米，距福州约154千米，省道203线经过乡境。[1][2]

乡政府驻甘棠村。全乡平均海拔约840米，属北亚热带海洋性季风气候，年均气温14至15℃，年降雨量约1800毫米。[2][10]

经济[edit]

甘棠以农业为主，种植业居首，水产与畜牧业为辅。反季节蔬菜与食用菌是农民收入的主要来源，另有淡水鳗鱼、蛋鸭养殖，以及茶叶与水稻。[2]

2021年，甘棠乡列入农业农村部、财政部公布的2021年农业产业强镇创建名单，是福建省入选的十个乡镇之一。[5]

著名人物[edit]

甘国宝（1709年—1776年），清代武将，字继赵，号和庵，雍正十一年（1733年）中武进士，后历任台湾镇总兵、福建水师提督、广东提督等职。他出生于今小梨洋村。[6][7]

名胜古迹[edit]

甘溪水利风景区依托自然河湖、石山与溪流水域，景区的保护、管理与开发由屏南祥安旅游开发有限公司承担，甘棠乡政府为委托方。[2]

甘国宝故居位于小梨洋村，漈下村的古建筑群与巴地村的巴地厝桥也属文物，各见其村条目。[1][7][8][9]
