大山村位于溪南镇中部，海拔620米。村名的来历是村址处在崇山峻岭之上。[1]

全村总面积22000亩，其中林地17800亩（生态公益林7980亩），耕地604亩（旱地35亩），毛竹6210亩。[1] 全村有6个自然村、7个村民小组，共267户、1022人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1934年此地属溪南（第三）区溪南联保（后改溪南乡）的西河保，之后划归新桥镇的上坪保。[1] 1949年初隶新桥镇，为大山村；1950年代初改由第五区管辖，称大山乡，随后并入溪南乡。[1] 1958年在溪南公社下设大山大队；1984年政社分开，改为大山村，仍属溪南乡；1989年撤乡改镇，归溪南镇。[1]
