大埔村是童坊镇东部的行政村，位于长汀县东部，距长汀县城37公里，距镇政府6公里，处在南馆公路沿线。村名得自长汀东门外一片较大的平原（当地称「地塅」）。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

童坊河自西向东流经村中。据博雅地名网，全村249户，人口1098人（年份未注），有3个自然村和11个村民小组。耕地1092亩，山林7982亩，其中生态林508亩。[1]

村中有龙泉寺。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初，此地为童坊区的大埔乡。1957年撤区并乡，划入彭坊乡；1958年公社化后属童坊公社，设大埔大队。1961年改属彭坊公社。1984年隶属童坊乡，设大埔村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村民以种植水稻、烤烟为主，外出务工的人也较多。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年1月，大埔村被命名为「2020年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
