岗头村位于新桥镇内，距集镇约3公里。[2]

地名由来[edit]

先民在汀江边一处荒岗开基，江水在此转过一个大弯，因此取名岗头湾。[1]

人口与生产[edit]

全村330户，1700余人，辖8个村民小组、2个自然村，土地面积5000余亩，其中耕地677亩。[2]

全村600多人在外务工或经商，这是村民的主要收入来源。约50户以米粉加工为业，全村土地流转200余亩，种植烤烟和西兰花等作物。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

曾设岗头大队；1984年起改称村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年1月，村被命名为「2020年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
