大山村距大池镇集镇约1.5公里，319国道和赣龙铁路从村域贯境而过，村民以种养业为主。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子坐落在一块大石之后，因此取名大山，这是把地理特征雅化而成的名字。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前，这片地方分作大竹、望山两处村落：大竹包括大圳背与竹山背，望山包括望丘、矿山下与水堀。1941年属南埔保。[1]

解放后，大圳背、望丘、矿山下、水堀四处合为大山村。1961年改设大山大队，1984年起为大山村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村中种植花生，所产咸酥花生是本村的特色之一。博雅地名网载有当地的一句俗语：「龙岩花生看大池，大池花生看大山」。[1]
