龙村是炉下镇下辖的行政村，村名来自地形，据称此处地形似龙状，简称龙村。村内下设5个村民小组。[1]

地名与人口[edit]

村名来自地形。据《1993年南平市志·地名志》所载，此地地形似龙状，因而得名。[1] 村域下辖石岩头、上龙村、下龙村和水尾四个自然村。[2]

2011年末，辖区内共有1342人，全部为常住人口，全体为汉族。辖区面积合计11.54平方千米，陆地11.42平方千米，水域0.12平方千米。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明代此地属杜溪里，清代沿袭。1934年划入南平县第六区炉溪乡，1941年在炉溪乡内设龙村保。1943年改属炉湄乡，1949年归第四区。1958年以东方红（夏道）人民公社为隶属，设龙村大队；1961年归炉下公社，1984年改属炉下乡。[1]
