高坪村位于西芹镇驻地北偏西约15千米，在西芹西溪北岸、茫荡山脚下，辖高坪、后坪、卓坑头3个自然村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

明洪武元年（1368年）属梅东里，清代仍之。1943年改属南平县第二区宝珠乡，之后归宝茂乡；1949年列入第六区，1952年改归第五区，1954年划入后坪乡，1958年并入火车头（西芹）人民公社。[3][2]

地名由来[edit]

村名原为后坪，因与洋后镇后坪村同名，1980年改为今名。[3][4]

地理环境[edit]

高坪鸳鸯石位于茫荡山红旗峰之巅，海拔1363米，石体形似一对相偎的鸳鸯，是茫荡山自然风景保护区内的景点。[5]

文化[edit]

每年农历六月十五日，村里举办高坪村民俗文化节，邀请各界人士参加，并组织文艺演出和科普宣传。[2]

2020年11月，高坪村获「第六届全国文明村镇」称号；2023年12月，又被命名为「2023年度福建省森林村庄」。[1]
