后塘村位于霞寨镇东南部的小坪片区，村名来自祠堂周边的一口塘。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村中多池塘，祠堂前有一口塘，名出水荷莲塘。祠堂大门上嵌有“后塘”二字，祠堂周围的民居便称为后塘村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地属琯溪约的小坪社。1945年改隶霞寨乡，成为后塘保；1950年设第二区后塘乡；1958年称下寨公社后塘大队；1984年改为后塘村委会。[1][3]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，后塘村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。2023年9月，它被认定为「漳州市2023年度市级‘一村一品’专业村」，产业以蜜柚为主。[1]
