甘棠社区隶属福建省漳州市芗城区芝山街道，位于街道驻地西南，南靠北环城路。社区名源于村中的甘棠庙，原俗称胶垅山。1980年分出为独立大队，1984年，大队改设村委会；2020年6月3日，此地改设为甘棠社区居民委员会。2024年1月，社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村附近有一座名叫胶垅山的小丘，村名俗称胶垅山。后村中有甘棠庙，村民觉得“甘棠”更为文雅易记，便改称甘棠。村改居后沿用此名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1980年分出为独立大队，归芝山乡；1984年，大队改设村委会。2020年6月3日，此地改设为甘棠社区居民委员会。[1]
