西坑村位于东田镇政府驻地西部约6公里处，村委会设在吴厝，聚落在鸡冠寨东北麓的山坑之中，因而得名西坑。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

西坑原属山西乡，后因聚落位于山坑之间，改称西坑。宋代属归善乡的经善里，元明清归二十八都，民国时辖于山西保。[1]解放初隶属山西乡，1958年设西坑大队，1984年归东田乡，1991年改为东田镇的西坑村委会。[1]

2020年12月，西坑村被认定为2020年泉州市中级版「绿盈乡村」。[1]
