塘下村是永和镇辖区内面积较小的行政村，位于镇东南部，东边与龙湖镇瑶厝村相邻[1]。

地理与人口[edit]

村子土地面积1.3平方千米，北距永和镇区约4公里，东距英林镇区约5公里，西距安海镇区约10公里，南距围头港约12公里[1]。村里是一个自然村，设7个村民小组，共336户，总人口1500多人[1]。

2021年村情汇总表记载，常住人口1354人，其中男性724人，女性630人；60岁及以上206人。外出流动人口310人，约占全村人口的22%，主要前往菲律宾、广东、深圳、浙江和石狮，从事经商和务工[1]。村里姓氏较多的是蔡姓和邵姓[1]。

村名与历史[edit]

据博雅地名网，村子原名南塘，元代时由青阳蔡氏迁来建村。村东西两侧各有一池塘，东边的叫塘潭，西边的叫塘仔；又因村子在青阳之南，才改称塘下[2]。

明清时属十二都。1944年归康乐乡瑶内保；1961年由永和公社接管，设塘下大队；1984年改为永和镇塘下村委会[2]。
